Development at:
Former British American Tobacco (BAT) site, Headway, Great Oakley

Road Hierarchy
The road hierarchy will comprise of one main spine road utilising the existing access arrangements off Headway. This spine road will be 5.5m wide with a 2m wide green verge and 2m wide pavements either side.
A number of secondary roads will form the remaining road layout. Secondary roads serving over 20 dwellings are 4.8m wide with a 2m footpath to one side. All other secondary roads are 4.8m shared surface with a 1.5m service strip either side.
A footpath is proposed along the eastern and western boundaries to offer future residents access to the proposed green infrastructure.
The overall site layout will incorporate ample car parking provision associated with new residential dwellings. The design will seek to provide a safe, low speed environment and improve pedestrian and cycle connectivity.
